Dr. Zahra Karimi, a researcher at the Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, October 4th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.  

OAC Grads, The Ontario Agricultural College Graduate Student Council (OAC GSC) is pleased to invite you to the 3rd Annual Cross Campus Conference (CCC) on October 3rd, 2019. The CCC is an opportunity for graduate students from different programs and campuses to meet together for a fun day of professional development and networking. The Ridgetown Campus will be hosting this year’s CCC, and lunch and transportation will be provided for this FREE event! Highlights of the program this year include:

The University of Guelph and the Beef Farmers of Ontario invite you to join us on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 for an open house at the newly opened Ontario Beef Research Centre in Elora. Guests will have the opportunity to tour one of the most sophisticated beef research facilities in the country and meet researchers driving the beef sector into the future with innovative and sustainable new solutions.   

Join us for a seminar by Dr. Joanna Makowska, Adjunct Professor in Applied Animal Biology at the University of British Columbia, and Laboratory Animal Advisor at the Animal Welfare Institute. She obtained her PhD from the Animal Welfare Program at the University of British Columbia, where her work focused on laboratory rat housing and how it affects rat welfare. Joanna is passionate about understanding what different animals need and how best to provide them with a life worth living.

It is time to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year and welcome the new graduate students in our department. On Friday, September 20th, we will host the Annual Golden Boot Soccer Cup and Annual ABSc BBQ (see the poster below). The event was a great success last year and we are counting on you to make it great again!
