Faculty, Staff, and Students of ABSc! Mark your calendars for Thirsty Third Thursday (TTT), which is next week (June 20th) at 4:00 PM at The Fifth (5th floor, UC)!  *CAUTION*: This month we want to SPICE things up! The famous hot sauce "Da Bomb"  (from Youtube series 'Hot Ones') will be available to try... if you dare to try it!!  Take a break and enjoy drinks, great conversation, and FREE appetizers with your fellow department members. 

This conference will provide an opportunity for veterinarians, researchers, educators, producers and support industries to share knowledge and ideas on improving and maintaining the health of sheep and goats, not just in Canada but around the world.

Hello ABSc Grad Students!   Next Wednesday (June 19th), the OAC GSC invites you to a picnic lunch on Johnston Green at noon! Make sure to bring your lunch and we’ll supply free pop and freezies. This is a great chance to meet fellow graduate students in the OAC and enjoy the nice weather!   Hope to see you there!  

It's time for the Annual CAF BBQ! Wednesday, June 5th 2019 – 11:30am - 1:30pm Central Animal Facility – Building 12 There will be displays, raffles and cake. And of course, an awesome BBQ Lunch - just $6 for a burger and pop (veggie and beef options available). Doors will be open to the community to showcase the amazing research done at Guelph and share how our animals are provided an excellent standard of care.

Committee Member: Stephanie Torrey Additional Member: Lee Niel External Examiner:  Bruce Webster   Thesis Title: “Assessment of Methods for On-farm Euthanasia of Layer Chickens.                                                        

The M.Sc. Defence for Benjamin Martin has been scheduled for Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 @ 1:30 p.m. in Room 141, Animal Science & Nutrition Building. The examining committee will consist of: Examining Chair: Vern Osborne Advisor: Anna-Kate Shoveller Adv. Committee Member: Jim Atkinson Additional Member:  Esther Finegan   Thesis Title: “The suitability of willow trees as animal forage and their application in zoological institutions”.  

  The OAC Graduate Student Council is hosting a bowling night at 7pm on May 22nd, 2019. Please see the poster for more information.  We hope to see you out!
